Human Engineering, a list of pro's and con's

I read an article that I just didn't quite get that had the above title.  It was so safe and nice it ignored some of the darker realities of humanity and how long we have been playing deadly games.  This is my response.

Pros:  Engineered humans may survive a long nuclear winter if they just had better DNA repair.

Cons:  Survival of the human species really isn't about you specifically.
